Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is Sprout?
Sprout is a gentle potty-training companion that helps you catch the moment before an accident. It runs a simple timer that reminds you when it is time to offer the potty, lets you log each moment in a tap, and shows you clear progress so you know the training is working. Everything is designed for busy, tired parents during those first few important weeks.
How does the timer work?
Sprout is built around a training day. When you are ready, you tap “Start the day” and Sprout begins a countdown to the next suggested potty try. Each time something happens, you log it and the timer resets to your chosen interval. At the end of the day you tap “End the day” and the reminders stop until you start again. There is no timer running in the background when you are not training, so Sprout only nudges you when it counts.
What can I log?
You can log a pee, a poop, a “tried” (they sat but nothing came), and an accident. Poops are celebrated as their own milestone, and after a poop Sprout asks whether they peed too so the timer stays accurate. A caught pee, an accident, or an empty sit all reset the countdown, so the next reminder is always measured from the last real moment.
What kind of records can I add?
You can add maintenance services, repairs, upgrades, faults, fuel fill-ups, expenses, to-do items, reminders, and general notes. You can also attach supporting files such as receipts, photos, videos, PDFs, and voice notes where supported.
Can I change how often Sprout reminds me?
Yes. You can set the reminder interval anywhere from 15 to 90 minutes to match your child’s rhythm. When things are going well, Sprout may suggest stretching the interval a little, because the goal is for the reminders to slowly fade away.
What are reminder hours?
Reminder hours let you set the window when Sprout is allowed to nudge you, for example from morning until bedtime. Outside those hours, Sprout stays quiet so you are never woken by a potty reminder overnight.
Can I snooze a reminder?
Yes. If now is not a good moment, you can snooze a reminder and Sprout will nudge you again after a short, adjustable delay.
Does Sprout show a timer on my Lock Screen?
Yes. On supported OS, Sprout can show a live countdown on your Lock Screen during a training day, so you can glance at the time until the next try without opening the app. You can also log a moment or start a nap right from there.
Can I pause for a nap?
Yes. When your child goes down for a nap, you can pause the timer so you are not reminded while they sleep, then pick right back up when they wake.

Can I see my child’s history?
Yes. The History tab gives you a month calendar and a day-by-day timeline of everything you logged, along with that day’s totals. It is an easy way to look back and see how a particular day or week went.
What insights does Sprout show me?
The Insights tab reframes everything around one question: is it working? You get your catch rate (caught pees versus accidents), your best dry stretch, a week-by-week trend, and plain-language observations about what Sprout is noticing. Premium unlocks deeper patterns, such as when accidents tend to happen and a look toward the finish line.
Can I track more than one child?
Sprout is designed to focus on one child at a time so the timer, reminders, and progress all stay clear and personal. You can set and change your child’s name in the Profile tab at any time.
Is my data private?
Yes. Sprout is offline-first and stores everything on your phone. Your child’s logs are not uploaded to a server or shared, and nothing leaves your device unless you choose to share it yourself.
Can I back up my data or move it to a new phone?
Yes. Backup and Restore lets you export everything to a single backup file that you control, and import it later, for example when setting up a new phone. Restoring replaces the current data on the device. Backup and Restore is a premium feature.
I already paid. How do I restore my purchase?
Open the Profile tab and tap “Restore Purchases.” This recovers premium access on a new device or after reinstalling, as long as you use the same store account.
My reminders are not showing up. What should I do?
Reminders rely on your phone’s notification permission. Open the Notifications screen inside Sprout to check the status, grant permission, or open your system settings to turn notifications back on. Once enabled, you will receive potty reminders even when the app is closed.
